My Why to Life Coaching…
Ever since I was a little kid, I’ve always felt my happiest when I am helping someone else regardless of what it is. I knew that when I grew up, I wanted to fulfill an occupation where I got to help better others in any way possible. After I graduated from my undergrad, I went on to pursue a degree in Occupational Therapy at Creighton University. After my first year, I realized that life takes changes sometimes that may be for the best.
I had the mindset that I needed to focus more on caring for the individuals I would be giving care to and less on myself when that was in fact far from the truth. Not realizing it, I pushed aside my interests, well-being, general health, and happiness along the way and learned the hard way. After acknowledging the idea of Occupational Therapy no longer being the career path that best suits me, I didn’t have to think twice about the opportunity to become a life coach.
As human beings, we are expected to meet standards and expectations that we think is the reality of how we should live life, but I wholeheartedly believe that we can achieve anything by focusing on the person we want to become first. I was drawn to investing time into life coaching because of how important it is to have someone by your side guiding you through all the crazy things life can throw at you. I know I could have benefitted from it in terms of being able to acknowledge the importance of being in my own state of mind and body and how it can allow me to fulfill my greatest potential.
